A Sunday with Some Beautiful Women
My husband was out of town for work. My girlfriends were out of town with family. (How dare they?) Rather than break open a bottle of wine and re-watch another season of Girlfriends Guide to Divorce, I decided to head out solo to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. And, I have to tell you, I met some truly inspiring, modern women.
Marie-Thérèse Walter was all striking angles who rocked a center part and a slash of bright red lipstick. Something about her slightly aloof manner - a balance of sensuality and restraint — really drew me in. Maybe it’s because she had a lover named Pablo.
I didn’t get this woman’s name but she was very confident in her own skin - the very model of balance, purity and tranquility. She made me realize a belly can be beautiful.
Anna really owned her age. Such a proud, lovely lady. Does she look like she had six children? She was a little worried about her older son, Vincent, though.
Then there was Jeanne, of the graceful swan neck and the mesmerizing slate-gray eyes. I was a little afraid to approach her she was so avant grade. Yet I couldn't stop staring at the way she composed herself with such effortless chic. My new #girlcrush.
After a few hours, I went home feeling refreshed and enriched by these impressive ladies. But not without stopping in the garden cafe and raising a glass of wine to my newfound friends.
