Happy Year of the Senior Dog!

Hey ladies born in 1958! This is your year, the Year of the Dog, according to the Chinese Lunar calendar. So get yourself to the groomers, pronto!

Because the forecast is for love. We're talking about the kind of mature, devoted, house-trained love that comes with giving your heart to a senior dog, five years and older.

According to petfinder.com the largest online database of adoptable pets, younger pups spend about 12 weeks on the site before finding a new home.  But senior dogs remain without homes nearly four times as long, or close to 48 weeks!

We can give you at least Ten Great Reasons to Rescue a Senior Dog but the best one of all may be that they could end up rescuing you.

All these seniors - although they look and act ageless - below are waiting for that special someone. Maybe it will be you!
